What is an Application Pack?

One Application Pack is used per role you actively work on. It includes the Alignment Report, tailored rewrite, refinement pass and DOCX export.

An Application Pack is the unit of work for one specific role. If you are applying for one job, that is one pack. If you decide to apply for a different role at a different company, that is a separate pack.

What one pack includes

  • An Alignment Report for the role.
  • A tailored rewrite of your CV or resume.
  • A covering letter tailored to the role.
  • Optional LinkedIn profile suggestions for the same role.
  • One refinement pass, used when you want tone, emphasis or structure adjusted.
  • DOCX exports of the documents in the pack.

What you can keep doing within the same pack

Once a pack is prepared for a project, you can come back to it. Viewing the project, re-reading the Alignment Report, downloading the same DOCX again, editing your Candidate Profile or using the included refinement pass does not, by itself, consume another pack.

Editing stored information vs generating a fresh Alignment Report

There is a difference between editing stored project information and asking CareerIbis to prepare a fresh Alignment Report against materially changed inputs. Adjusting a note, correcting a typo or refining your Candidate Profile is not the same as changing the target role or job description and running a new alignment against them.

What does not consume another pack

  • Re-opening the same project and reading the report or rewrite.
  • Re-exporting the same document to DOCX.
  • Making edits to your Candidate Profile.
  • Using the single refinement pass that is included in the pack.

What may need a fresh Alignment Report

  • Changing the target role, company or job description in a material way and wanting the alignment recalculated against the new inputs.
  • Starting a fresh alignment from scratch after you have already used the pack for the original target.
  • A meaningfully different role at the same company that needs its own alignment.

A fresh Alignment Report may be subject to pack rules. If you are unsure, review your remaining packs on the Dashboard before starting a new alignment.

What does need a new pack

  • A different role at a different company.
  • A meaningfully different role at the same company that needs its own alignment.
  • Starting a fresh alignment from scratch after you have already used the pack for a previous target.

Why one pack maps to one job application

A tailored application only helps if it is genuinely tailored. Trying to reuse one rewrite across many different roles pushes the wording back towards generic, which is the opposite of the point. One pack per target role keeps each application anchored to the evidence that matters for that role.

Your saved projects, Alignment Reports, rewrites and exports remain accessible even when your remaining packs reach zero. You will not lose past work by using it.

Common questions

Do I lose a pack if I only look at the report?

A pack is counted when the Alignment Report is prepared for a project. Reading the report afterwards, or coming back to it later, does not use another pack.

Do exports and refinements each use a pack?

No. DOCX exports and the single refinement pass are included in the same pack as the Alignment Report and rewrite.

Can I use one pack for several similar roles?

We do not recommend it. Similar-looking roles often have different priorities in the job description. A separate pack per target keeps the alignment honest.
